Magnolia Lane for a Gift Card Holder

Magnolia Lane and Country Home come together to make a pretty card that is a gift card holder on the inside. Inspired by Linda Heller’s original design, I made two versions. You can tell me which one you like better!

The first one has Petal Pink cardstock, textured with the Corrugated Embossing Folder. I used a Mossy Meadow card base to match the stripe in the “wallpaper” DSP. Each piece measures 5-1/4″ x 2″. I covered the seam with Crumb Cake Ribbon and Braided Linen Trim.

I stamped the watering can from Country Home Stamp Set onto some old Galvanized Metallic Paper (wasn’t that paper great?!) and fussy cut it out. The Magnolia bloom that’s sitting in the can is cropped from Magnolia Lane DSP with one of the Magnolia Memories Dies.

Inside, I glued another piece of Corrugated Petal Pink along the sides and bottom, leaving the top open to hold a gift card.

Here’s the blue version. I turned the layers upside down with the Corrugated piece on top and the striped Come Sail Away DSP on the bottom. The flower is also from the Magnolia Lane DSP, but fussy cut with scissors since there isn’t a die with this shape.

So, which do you like better? Pink or blue? Either one makes a great gift card holder. Occasion to be determined by you!

  1. As usual Karen, super cute. Love the Magnolia set. One of my all time favorites!

  2. Both are wonderful but I think I am a smidge partial to the blue. Seems so fresh and I think I like the plain embossed on the top. But, both are really great.

  3. I vote pink!

  4. I vote blue

  5. Great layout and cute idea! Blue gets my vote but the pink is lovely too!

  6. Love the embossing to go with the stripes. I’m still so tempted to get this stamp set. With the Christmas one coming out, I think I will look at that.
    Have a blessed day.

  7. Super cute card, I like the blue one best.
