Lovely Words with a Twist for CPC #73

Oh, my! Lemon Lime Twist + Basic Black! What a crisp, fresh color combination for summer. I love it! This beautiful Designer Series Paper is the 2017-19 In Color collection called Fresh Florals DSP Stack. It’s a stack of 40 – 12″ x 12″ sheets, 4 each of double-sided designs in the 5 In Colors. And it is a must-have, in my opinion!

Today I’ve designed a card to enter into the Craft Project Central’s Sketch Challenge #73. Here is the banner that inspired my card ~

This sketch was designed for CPC’s Creating Pretty Cards by Regina Andari. You can see the link and get dimensions HERE.

I used all four patterns from the Fresh Florals Stack, arranged and glued them to a 5-1/4″ x 4″ piece of Basic Black, then adhered that to a base card of Thick Whisper White with Dimensionals.

Next, I cropped the “friend” from Basic Black using the Lovely Words Thinlits Dies and an oval from the Layering Ovals Framelits. I cut a second oval of the same size with Lemon Lime Twist cardstock.

I glued those together using just tiny drops of Multipurpose Liquid Glue. Tip: I recommend setting your cut-out greeting on a Silicone Craft Sheet, lightly gluing the back of the sentiment and let it set up for a few minutes before adhering it to the background color. This will ensure a clean, no oozing, stick!

I popped the sentiment up with Dimensionals, then added a Solid Black Baker’s Twine bow and some Rhinestone Basic Jewels to finish.

I made the inside pretty with a layer of Basic Black, the coordinating flower from Floral Phrases in Lemon Lime Twist, stamped off once on scrap paper, and a sentiment from Colorful Seasons in Memento Tuxedo Black.

I made the envelope pretty with a 2″ x 6″ strip of matching DSP and a 1/4″ x 6″ strip of Basic Black cardstock.
