I don’t think it’s any secret that I love using Copper Foil on my Autumn cards. It is my most favorite paper to use in the Fall! Here is another example of my love of copper leaves craze:
Make Your DSP Stretch
This pretty card uses a minimal amount of DSP, so if you are trying to stretch your paper supply, try this. Cut a 3-7/8″x 3″ piece of the speckled brown sheet from Gilded Autumn Specialty DSP. From that, cut an angle from the right 3″ corner down to approximately 1″ above the left side corner. Cut a 5″x 3/8″ strip of the herringbone pattern. Next cut a 5-1/2″x 1″ strip of the mixed copper and gold pattern all from the same DSP.
Line the strip up on a 5-1/4″x 4″ piece of Early Espresso Cardstock, beginning at the bottom and butting the strips up right next to each other. Glue in place. Turn it over and snip off the overhanging ends.
Use Every Bit!
Now I hear someone asking, “Where did she get that skinny copper strip?” This was a fun find that I want to share with you. I cut a 3/8″x 5″ strip of Copper Foil with a die from Stitched Be Mine Dies. I wasn’t satisfied with the cut piece that I was going to use, then I noticed the extra piece that I was about to throw away and decided it was perfectly sized for my design! Woo-hoo! The moral of the story is, don’t throw anything away before you’re sure you can’t use it on something else!
At this point I stamped my sentiment from Love of Leaves with Versamark Ink and heat embossed it with copper embossing powder.
My large copper leaf from Stitched Leaves Dies (bundle these with Love of Leaves Stamp Set and save 10%) is popped up a bit with Dimensionals and adorned with gold metallic thread.
I added five Champagne Rhinestones for an extra bit of bling, then covered my envelope flap with left over DSP. And that finishes another Fall birthday card to send to one of my many Fall birthday friends!
I love the way this looks! I hope you’ll be inspired to try something similar. Gorgeous
Another winner! Beautiful.
So pretty. I really like that bright shiny leaf! I had to look at the supplies to what die you used and the ribbon on the diagonal part. So fun.
