Just a Note…of Encouragement

Notes of encouragement don’t have to be super fancy or elaborate. This quick note card was simple and fast, yet quite pretty with the Scalloped Note Card and Envelope set.

I chose the blue notecard to go with the Bird Ballad DSP that I picked. Then I cropped the bird and scalloped layer out using Layering Ovals Dies. The note card comes with the scalloped bottom edge. I ran a 1/2″ strip of DSP along the bottom inside which peeks out and compliments the rest of the card. You get 20 cards and 20 envelopes, 5 each of 4 colors, for $8.00. They are pre-scored and ready to decorate.

I found “Just a Note” in Flourishing Phrases, a long standing favorite set for beautiful fonts and sentiments.

All I needed is a 1/2″ strip of coordinating DSP for the inside of this card. Since I have a lot to say, this leaves me plenty of room to send my encouraging words!

I decided to stamp the Free As A Bird bird on the front of the envelope. I touched it up lightly with some Stampin’ Write Markers.

  1. Great idea! Those notecards are really cute!

  2. Very pretty card, Karen. I like sending note cards to friends to let them know I’ve moved.

  3. Very cute. I, too, forget about the scalloped postcard sets. This is perfect for showing the little footprints. Who wouldn’t love to receive a card like this.

I am sending an old friend from high school a birthday card. I bet she will be surprised. It has been eons since we have seen each other. Time to catch up.

    • I love that idea, Chris! I hope you re-connect with your friend. I sent a card to my best friend from high school a couple of years ago. And even though we live on opposite sides of the country, it brought us back together after many years and we have kept in touch since.

  4. Thanks for the reminder about the scalloped notecards. Your design is just charming, especially with the yellow strip at the bottom and the adorable envelope stamping.
