My card today was inspired by Connie Babbert. She used the poinsettia from Reason for the Season, but since I don’t have that set, I pulled out last year’s Joyful Christmas and made it work! I love the combination of Cherry Cobbler and Gold. The addition of Crumb Cake makes it a little less formal — it is one of my favorite neutrals.
I heat embossed the poinsettia image with gold embossing powder on Whisper White. I cut the flower out with my Paper Snips and adhered it with Dimensionals. I took my 1/8″ circle handheld punch and punched out 8 tiny circles from gold Glimmer Paper for the center of the flower.
The Gold Foil strip is 4″ x 1 1/2″ and the Cherry Cobbler strip is 4″ x 3/4″. The vertical strip of Winter Wonderland Designer Vellum paper is 5 1/4″ x 1 1/2″.
Inside I put a strip of gold and white Washi Tape and the sentiment from Joyful Christmas. Although you cannot buy Joyful Christmas anymore, Reason for the Season is a beautiful current alternative. It can be found on page 31 of the 2015 Holiday Catalog.
I hope each of you has a Joyful Christmas! It will be here before we know it!
