In Bloom for Simple Saturday

It’s Saturday, the day I go “simple” to try and show you that you can make beautiful handmade cards without a lot of expensive tools. Simply stamps, ink, and paper (and maybe an embellishment!) Today I’ve been playing with In Bloom for Simple Saturday.

To start this card, I took a piece of Basic White Cardstock and masked off a strip in the middle at an angle. I used Post-it Tape, but any scrap paper, Post-it Note, or anything that prevents the ink from going into the area of the sentiment will work.

Then I started stamping flowers and leaves, overlapping the Post-it Tape. The only thing I really did intentionally was get the large yellow flowers and large purple ones to follow a pattern. The rest was just fill-in where I thought it needed it. It’s kind of fun to just stamp various blooms here and there.

The base is Garden Green and the center strip is Granny Apple Green. After pulling off the Post-it Tape, I glued the GAGreen (GAG, lol!) strip down. It was longer than I needed so I snipped off the excess from either end. Then I  stamped the birthday sentiment with Memento Black.

The last touch was three Iridescent Rhinestones. If you want one embellishment that picks up the color of anything you’re using, this is the one. They are sparkly and pretty and match everything.

I hope you’ve enjoyed this simple post. Give it a try and let me know what you come up with!

Happy Weekend!
