In a Fall Mood!

I’m in a Fall mood! And yet it is pushing 108 degrees ~ whaaat?! I don’t even live in Arizona! If I pull out the autumnal colors and add a sunflower, will it feel cooler outside? Well, maybe not. But I am thankful for AC and Fall will get here eventually. I’m still in the mood. So today I pulled out a few of the Regals colors, cut them into 1/2″ strips and created a background for my sunflower that looks like Fall to me!

The colors I chose are Cherry Cobbler, Old Olive, Cajun Craze, Pumpkin Pie, and Mango Melody. The sunflower is Crushed Curry, Soft Suede, and Early Espresso. The leaves are Pear Pizzazz and Old Olive.

Easy Background

Cut 1/2″ strips in your chosen colors and lay them out onto a piece of Very Vanilla Cardstock. Once you’re satisfied with the arrangement, glue them down fitting them tightly against each other. I started with 6″ strips, then trimmed off the excess, which I then used on the inside.

Soften With Vellum

I did feel that the strips were a little overpowering, so I softened them down a bit with a piece of Vellum, cropped with the 2nd largest Deckled Rectangle Dies. I then glued the sunflower to a smaller of the Deckled Dies and Very Vanilla Cardstock and glued it to the front. My sentiment came from retired Celebrate With Flowers (I love this sentiment – it will never get old!)

The leftovers from the front makes for a little bonus on the inside. No need to waste! See links to the products I used down below.
