We’re back with a color challenge on this Thanksgiving Thursday. I want to first wish each of you a very happy Thanksgiving! I hope you are spending the day with people whom you love and are very thankful for! In keeping with the theme for the day, I made a card that says, “I’m thankful for you!” With elements from the All About Autumn Suite, I’ve created a fun fold for you today.
Here’s our challenge:
And here’s my card:
It may be a little hard to distinguish, but I stamped the leaf from Autumn Leaves with a Sponge Dauber and our three colors. If you expand the photo, you will see bits of all three!
Fun Fold Measurements:
- Copper Clay Cardstock base, 8-1/4″x 5-1/2″, scored at 4-1/8″ and 6-7/8″
- All About Autumn DSP (no longer available) in Copper Clay and Gold, 5-1/4″x 2-1/2″ and 5-1/4″x 1-3/8″
- Copper Clay Cardstock, 4-1/4″x 2-3/4
- Basic White Cardstock, 4″x 2-1/2″ for outside, 5-1/4″x 2-1/2″ for inside
- All About Autumn DSP in Woodgrain pattern, 5-1/4″x 1-1/8″
Stamp & Die Cut:
- On a 3″x 2-1/2″ piece of Basic White, stamp the large leaf from Autumn Leaves, using a Sponge Dauber with Copper Clay, Pebbled Path, and Lost Lagoon inks.
- Cut it out using the coordinating die from Autumn Leaves Dies.
- Cut another large leaf using Lost Lagoon Snowflake Magic Specialty DSP.
- Glue the stamped leaf over the Snowflake leaf, offset just enough to look like a shadow.
- Crop the leaf veins from Copper Clay Cardstock, backed with some Adhesive Sheet and the die.
- Remove the Adhesive Sheet backing paper and adhere it over the stamped leaf. Then glue the whole leaf with shadow and veins onto the white 4″x 2-1/2 rectangle
- Stamp “I’m thankful” from Autumn Leaves under the leaf in Pebbled Path, and “For You” on the inside piece.
Putting it all together:
- Fold the base in the middle with a valley fold (as you would any card).
- Glue the large piece of Copper Clay/Gold DSP to the front left, then fold the 1-3/8″ end back the other direction in a mountain fold.
- To this 1-3/8″ strip, glue the woodgrain DSP.
- Now with glue just down the center of the stamped leaf piece, adhere it to the center of the 1-3/8″ strip, over the DSP.
- Open the card and glue the smaller Copper/Gold DSP piece to the far right, leaving 1/8″ around three sides. Then glue the white piece right next to it, leaving no gaps.
Let me end by saying how thankful I am to each of you! Thank you for following my blog, thank you for your comments, thank you for your purchases from my online store. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving and when we return, it’s all about Christmas! Are you ready?!
