I’m blending a little new with a little old today with this birthday card. We live among the oak trees here in California. I could be wrong, but I’m calling this image an oak! I stamped it with Mossy Meadow on Whisper White cardstock, then embossed it with clear embossing powder. The photo doesn’t show it, but it is super shiny in parts of the tree, but not all. It’s a cool effect!
I took Mossy Meadow cardstock, cut it to a 4 square, then cut on the diagonal to get two triangles. I ran one through the Big Shot with the Woodgrain embossing folder. The fun wood stack paper is from last year’s Adventure Bound DSP Stack. I am on a mission to use up my old papers, and I thought the print went well with my tree 🙂 The cute little acorn embellishment falling from this oak tree is in our new 2015 Holiday Catalog. It is nestled up next to Linen Thread and adhered with a glue dot.
The overall card measures 4 1/4″ square, so it fits into a regular envelope – which I dressed up a bit with some more DSP…
A masculine card for the guy who loves his wood pile! This makes me excited for the cool weather ahead and the back yard fire pit. Oh! the sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes and I stamped it in Early Espresso to match the card base and inner layer.
Have a great day ~

This is beautiful! Loved that you embossed it too – I agree with you, it gives such a great effect and the best thing – it is super fun to do! Super card!
Thanks, Susan! It was fun to make!
