Whew, it feels like I’ve been gone forever! I have been getting some R&R (because you know, this retirement thing is exhausting – ha!) in Northern Minnesota. I stayed at my brother’s cabin and enjoyed catching up with him and his family. It was completely relaxing, beautiful, and fun. He has several lake “toys” and we tried almost all of them 🙂
Such a wonderful time!
Now back in California, it’s back to business as usual. I came home to find a box full of new products from Stampin’ Up!’s Holiday Catalog. I had to choose what I wanted to order first – no easy task, as I want everything! This catalog is filled with tons of fun products. There are many new bundles to buy at a 15% discount – love it! I haven’t been home long enough to play with everything I ordered, but here is one card I made – simple and quick – but loving this DSP. It is Into the Woods Designer Series Paper.
This is a regular sized A-2 card. The base is Whisper White. The green is Old Olive run through the Big Shot with the Woodgrain embossing folder. The next layer is Tangelo Twist, and the DSP is Into the Woods, available Sept. 1st.
The greeting is also new, from Thankful Forest Friends. I masked off the leaves and acorns that surround the greeting for this project, and added an acorn from the current For All Things. Then a quick punch with the 1 3/8″ Circle Punch and backed with a slightly larger Old Olive circle cut with a Framelit, Old Olive Baker’s Twine wrapped 3 times, and a lift with Dimensionals…Done!
The greeting is stamped with Soft Suede and the acorn is colored with Old Olive and Soft Suede markers.
That’s it! This paper is going to be a favorite of mine for Autumn cards and projects. There are so many pretty patterns and the colors are perfect. And the coordinating stamps and accessories are wonderful.
