If you saw yesterday’s post, and I hope you did – as it was a part of the July Pals Blog Hop – you’ll know what I mean when I say I CASEd myself! See yesterday’s card HERE.
Same basic layout, same color for the base card, and same lace down the left side – but that’s when I changed things a bit.
I used the multi-colored floral from the English Garden DSP, and layered it with Night of Navy. For the front and center square, I tried to mimic the large yellow flower by using Watercolor Wings with Hello Honey ink. I stamped off once for the main part of the butterfly, then used full strength for the center details. Soft Suede is the color for the sentiment and the body of the butterfly (but you can’t see it because it’s hiding behind a Soft Suede button) and some linen thread twirled and adhered under the button with a glue dot.
(Buy it as a bundle with the butterfly framelits, and save 15%!)
I rounded two corners of the white square and layered it with another square of Night of Navy. The two trios of dots are a stamp from Watercolor Wings and I used Hello Honey.
The same, but different! When you enjoy a basic layout, it’s fun to try it out with different papers and stamps. I may try another with yet a different color scheme. We’ll see what I can come up with next!
Have a blessed day! Take a little time for yourself and do something you love 🙂
