Hot Air Balloon

Have you ever been in a hot air balloon? It’s something I’ve always thought I’d like to do, but never have. Bucket list!!! Now that’s wishing big!

This balloon is flying high in the sky, amongst the clouds of Sunny Days DSP, a freebie gift you can earn with a qualifying order during Sale-A-Bration. I’m loving the color combination of Shaded Spruce, Pool Party, and Basic Gray.

My balloon is tone-on-tone Shaded Spruce, the stamping over the same color of Cardstock. I cropped a banner of holographic silver paper for the balloon decoration and the banner flags.

Here’s a look at the bundle:

I cut off the flag ends of the Basic White banner and glued it directly over the Holograph banner, matching edges. Then I adhered it to the card front with Dimensionals.

For the hot air balloon, I used double-thickness Dimensionals on the balloon and single-thickness Mini Dimensional under the basket.

For the envelope:
  • Gotta bring in the bling on the envelope! I cut a 1/4″ strip of Shaded Spruce, a 1/16″ strip of Holographic Paper, and a 2″ strip of Sunny Days DSP (that fun rainbow print that matches the clouds!)
  • Glue them down with Tear & Tape at the top of the back flap and Multipurpose Liquid Glue on the rest of the flap. Trim off the excess paper around 3 edges.

What is your “big wish?” I hope it comes true!

This is the last week to receive Purple Fine Shimmer Gems from me as a thank you for your order of $75 or more. All you need is my host code:

  1. I like how you turned this hot air balloon set into a more masculine card with your color choice. Everyone else I’ve seen before now were girly pastel. I too have been hot air ballooning over Park City, Utah. It’s an amazing adventure to do. Even for someone that’s scared of heights like me.

    • Thanks for commenting, Annette! I’m glad you like my color scheme! And someday I hope to get the chance to experience that as well!

  2. Well I’ve been on the cuff about this bundle. Yes, I’ve been in a hot air balloon..over Lake Tahoe-Amazing. Second we get hot air balloons over our property a lot. Love this card and the use of holographic paper I’ve been hoarding!

  3. I enjoy your blog and ideas. I am new at being a demonstrator and find casing helps a lot with inspiration. I will soon be 79 years and joined last year in February. I have health issues and have two friends that stamp. I have been using SU since the early 1980s. Thanks

    • Thanks, Candy! This is a craft for all ages and I love that! You were using SU long before I discovered it! My favorite part of this is stamping with friends. Thanks for your comments!
