Hopping toward…Father’s Day!

Welcome to the Families First Pals Blog Hop for April 2017.  We are thankful you stopped by to take a look at our 2017 Blog Hop monthly themes.  This month we are featuring projects that are all about our families. This is a great time of year to think about what to make for Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, or upcoming graduations. And, family vacations are just around the corner… how would you want to remember those special family moments? We hope to provide you with lots of ideas and that you enjoy our creations.
You may just be starting the Blog Hop or may have come from the previous link from the Line-up on the Pals Blog Hop listing shown below.  The full lineup will help you move along from blog to blog so you may see all the projects.

I picked a Father’s Day theme for today’s Hop, and the tools from the Build It Framelits Dies make a perfect card for my son. He is an amazing dad to two sweet little boys, and his oldest (3 years) recently got a tool bench so he could be like Daddy!
The layout for my card was inspired by the current CPC sketch challenge. CPC stands for Craft Project Central, but each month they have a sketch challenge and call it CPC for Creating Pretty Cards. This one is CPC #70. Here is the sketch that inspired my card ~
I used the Nailed It Bundle (#144735) to build my card, and used several items from the Urban Underground Suite.
To begin with, I started with a base card using Basic Black cardstock, then added the first layer with a Delightful Dijon print from the Urban Underground Specialty Designer Series Paper.
The top layered papers are: Basic Black – 4-3/4″ x 2-1/4″, then another Urban Underground print – 4-1/2″ x 2″.
The bottom panel is Very Vanilla – 4-3/4″ x 1″. I added a 1/8″ strip of Basic Black across the center and added three screws from the Urban Underground Embellishments.
I stamped Happy Father’s Day using StazOn Ink onto a piece of Silver Foil and cropped it with the Build It Framelits then attached it with Dimensionals. I made the tools by stamping onto Delightful Dijon with Basic Black, then cutting the parts out with the framelits. I cut a second set from Silver Foil and glued the pieces together. They are popped up with Dimensionals.
The fun screws and bolt were cut with framelits from a gray piece of Urban Underground DSP and glued down with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
Delightful Dijon from the 2015-2017 In Color Paper Stack plus a 1/4″ strip of Basic Black dress up the Very Vanilla envelope.  And there you have it!  Love it! I hope you do, too! 🙂
All of the supplies that I used will be listed below the Hop Line-Up.
