February 2016. We are thankful you stopped by to take a look at our new
2016 Blog Hop monthly themes. This month we are CASE-ing a project
shown in a current Stampin’ Up! catalog. After all, with the Annual,
Occasions and Sale-a-Bration catalogs available right now, there is much
inspiration to choose from. We hope you enjoy our creations.
may have come from the previous link from the Line-up on the Pals Blog
Hop listing shown below. The full lineup will help you move along from
blog to blog so you may see all the projects.
I did change the project up just a bit. First of all, I made my own 3″ square box with Kraft Cardstock, the Stampin’ Trimmer, and Fast Fuse. This would be so much easier with the Gift Box Punch Board (and now I may have to get it!). If you want the instructions to my made-from-scratch box, please let me know. I will be happy to share, but it’s a bit too lengthy to go into on this post.
I used a 6″ x 2 1/2″ strip of DSP from the Going Places DSP Stack. You will find this stack in the 2016 Occasions Catalog on page 39. I knew I wanted to use Mossy Meadow on this project, and the Mossy Meadow grid paper from this stack was perfect.
To create a “handle” for the lid, I used an Antique Brad.
The tag is 2″ wide, punched with the Ornate Tag Topper Punch, stamped with Basic Black Archival Ink, and colored with a Mossy Meadow marker.
I used 5/8″ Striped Cotton Ribbon in Mossy Meadow to wrap around the box, then tied the tag on with Old Olive Baker’s Twine.
Hop Line-up below. We hope to see you on next month’s Pals Blog Hop!

Dare I say it? I like your CASE so much better than the original. Crumb Cake and Mossy Meadow = perfection! Great Job Karen!
Ahhh, thanks Rae!
Great project and so classically done!
Thanks, Tricia 🙂
Fun project and well done!
Thanks, Patti!
Love your CASEd box, it is fab. Up so agree Guy Greetings is a wonderful set, only thing I miss is there is no "Son" stamp. I truly would love the directions on making this box and will send you an email with my address. Thanks
I agree, Carol, there should be a "son" stamp in there – somebody goofed on that one! I will send you my box directions in the next few days. Thank you!

Wow! I love your CASEd gift box! I totally agree with you about Guy Greetings. It will not be leaving my stash ever! I can't believe that you would attempt the gift box without the punch board. That is a level of craftsmanship that I will ever attain. Yep, you CASEd it and won! Great job!
Thank you, Debbie!
Karen, my favorite detail on your CASE is the antique brad… so clever. This is a wonderful masculine stamp set and I appreciate the reminder of it. Well done (and especially considering you don't have the box punch board… 🙂
Thanks, Katy!
