Looking ahead to Valentine’s Day, I made a very simple yet elegant card using Marbled Elegance DSP (available now in the Online Exclusives) and Heart Shaped Bundle (a free Sale-A-Bration gift with purchase of $120). The Gold Foil accents are so rich against Cherry Cobbler Cardstock!
Here are the easy directions:
- Cut a base card from Cherry Cobbler Cardstock at 11″x 4-1/4″, folded at 5-1/2″
- Heat emboss the “hello” greeting with Versamark and gold embossing powder. For placement, I recommend dry-fitting all the pieces on the card front first to determine where the sentiment should go.
- Cut two strips from Marbled Elegance Specialty DSP, one at 5″x 1″ and the other at 4-1/2″x 1″. Stagger them on the card front 1/4″ from the left edge and glue down.
- Crop a heart from the new Heart Shaped Dies out of Gold Foil. Glue it about 3/8″ from the right edge and 1-1/8″ from the bottom. To adhere this, I used the tiniest drops of liquid glue. You might want to try cropping it with an Adhesive Sheet behind it if you have trouble with controlling the liquid glue.
- Add one gold Self-Adhesive Heart embellishment below “hello.”
It’s hard to pick up all the gold shine on camera, so I tried a few different angles. Here’s another one:
Such a simple design, but I love it about that. The Marbled Elegance DSP is gorgeous, but best (IMO) used sparingly!
What will I do on the inside?
