I had a request for a birthday card in the team colors for a young Seahawks fan. That means navy, green, and gray! I love Be The Star stamp set for boys. Lots of layers and bright colors make this a fun card for a soon-to-be 9 year old.
The base of Night of Navy is a regular 5 1/2″ x 4 1/4″ card. The vertical Smoky Slate piece is 2 1/2″ wide. The layers of Whisper White and green are each 1/8″ smaller. I had to dig deep into the recesses of my crafting supplies to find a green that would be close to the Seahawks color. Cucumber Crush was just a little too blue. This is an old Stampin’ Up! color called Green Galore. Maybe some of you still have it as well?
“Happy Birthday” came from Guy Greetings. I used the Lucky Stars Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, the Eclectic Paper Piercing mat with the stars to match the Stars Framelits. A quick dotting around the greeting banner with my old Green Galore marker and a navy Candy Dot in the center of the large star finished it off. The smallest stars were punched out using the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack.
On the inside, I layered green under the white and added some gray striped Washi Tape across the bottom.
I like the way this card turned out! I hope the birthday boy likes it as well 🙂 I’m sure he’ll be more interested in the present it will be sitting on, but that’s OK. It’s the total package that counts, right?
Enjoy your day! If you like my card and would like to duplicate it, the ingredients will be listed at the bottom of this post. You can go straight to my online store simply by clicking on the image that you would like to see. Until next time ~
Happy Stamping!
