I got my idea for this fun Halloween card from the 2016 Holiday Catalog. But it isn’t a card in the catalog, it’s a treat bag! This is an example of how you can take a picture from the catalog (or anywhere) and change it up slightly to make it your own.
Here is the photo from page 52 of the catalog:
Just a few simple changes and I have a great card to send to someone. The base card is Basic Black and measures 4 1/4″ x 11″, scored at 5 1/2″ to make a vertical card. The orange grid paper from Halloween Night Specialty DSP (page 51) is cut to 4′ x 4 1/2″. The striped paper is 3/4″ x 4″ and the polka-dot banner is 4″ x 2 1/2″. All three papers are from Halloween Night DSP.
I used the gray and black Baker’s Twine from the Halloween Night suite. The scene was created with the Spooky Fun Stamp Set and Halloween Scenes Edgelits Dies. They come in a bundle at a 10% discount!
More fun on the inside! The sentiment in Old Olive and spider/web in Memento Tuxedo Black are just about as scary as I get on Halloween 🙂 Kind of light-weight spooky fun!
So be sure to use your catalog as a springboard for great ideas. There are tons of creative ideas just ready for you to get started.
