Last fall I went up north to watch my youngest daughter compete in a cyclo-cross event. If you haven’t heard of this sport, you’re not alone. I hadn’t either until she started competing in them. It’s basically a bicycle race on a short but harrowing course of hills, pits, water, sand, and obstacles. They even have to get off their bikes and carry them over some obstacles. It’s fast and fun to watch – very muddy! They set up these courses to be used for just a few weeks in the fall, when the weather has turned too wet for street racing. All that to set up the story behind my next card using the Greatest Journey Bundle, using the cyclist silhouette die (might be the reason for my purchase!!)
Details:
- Garden Green Cardstock base, 11″x 4-1/4″, folded at 5-1/2″
- Gorgeous Grape Cardstock layer, 5″x 3-3/4″
- Enjoy the Journey Designer Series Paper, 4-7/8″x 3-5/8″
- Crumb Cake Cardstock “hill” cropped with Greatest Journey Dies and textured with Painted Texture Embossing Folder, approx. 2″x 3-5/8″
- Basic Black Cardstock strip, 4-1/4″x 2-1/2″, and cyclist from Greatest Journey Dies

A Few Tips To Avoid Pitfalls (catch the cyclo-cross lingo? š¤£)
- When stamping directly onto Designer Paper, use a stamp positioning tool such as a Stamparatus. You need to stamp it more than once to get a good crisp image. I think the DSP absorbs the ink and it’s best to stamp it 2 or 3 times.
- Glue the silhouetted cyclist directly to the paper instead of using Dimensionals. I tried the latter and it gave weird shadows, not to mention it’s difficult to get Dimensionals into tiny spaces.
I have published three other cards using this fun bundle and DSP ~ click HERE to see my very first, then HERE to see Monday’s card, and HERE to see Tuesday’s card. There will be more as there is so much to create with these fantastic dies. If you are interested in purchasing this bundle to create cards for your adventurous friends and family, click HERE.
When you purchase items from my store, please use the Host Code for anything up to $150. I’m sending everyone who purchases from me this month (no matter the $ amount) a birthday card kit with tutorial as a thank you gift. If you go wild and order over $150, you will not use my code as you will get your own Stampin’ Rewards for anything you would like out of the catalogs or online exclusives. I will still send you my gift as well! Thank you! Here is the Code ~
Have an awesome, maybe adventurous, weekend!
