Fun With Watercolor Pencils

If you haven’t tried these Watercolor Pencils yet, you need to — now! They are so smooth and easy, which makes them so much fun! I roughly colored this Tasty Truck, then smoothed the color around the spaces with my Blender Pen. They are my favorite coloring tools yet, because they always look good 🙂

     Watercolor Pencils~ Item #141709

I colored in this Tasty Truck that I stamped onto Watercolor Paper with Archival Basic Gray Stampin’ Pad. I added the cute little cupcakes, the flags, banners, and the greeting all with Basic Gray, then added more color.

Tasty Trucks is a free Sale-A-Bration item that you can get when you spend $50 on Stampin’ Up! products.  It is also one of my favorites.  Just look at all the cute stamps that come with this set ~

Now look closely… can you see what I did in the windows, headlight, and hub caps?

I used a little Fine Tip Pen glue!  It left a shiny, slightly raised finish that looks like glass.  Clever, yes? Not my original idea, but whoever thought of it first, I commend you!!! I also put some glitter glue in the cupcakes for some sparkle and shine.

I glued the Watercolor Paper to a very narrow layer of Basic Gray Cardstock, then attached it with Stampin’ Dimensionals onto an embossed piece (Polka Dot Embossing Folder) of Sweet Sugarplum Cardstock. Then I glued that to a base card 5-1/2″ x 4-1/4″ of Sweet Sugarplum.

The finishing flair is a bow of Sweet Sugarplum 3/8″ Ruched Ribbon, attached with a Glue Dot.

I used the finishing phrase to the birthday message on the inside of the card and added three more banner stamps to match the front.
