Fun Times with Stampin’ and a Sneak Peek

Good Monday morning to you!  I hope you had a relaxing weekend!

I had a fun day on Friday hangin’ with my Stampin’ Up! team, and wanted to share our projects with you. Four of us got together at my house and did a Shoebox Swap.  I learned about these swaps in Atlanta in November when I attended Pam Morris’ and Brian King’s World Card Making Day event. I thought it would be a fun way to encourage my friends to take the lead and demo a project.  And boy, did they come through!  We ended up with four very different and all beautiful cards.

First mine:

Inspired by Jeanie Stark’s calendar card, I made a tent card, decorated it with Fruit Stand DSP and our new soon-to-be-available Dragonfly framelits.  These come out in the Occasions Catalog on January 4th. I embossed a 1″ strip of Real Red cardstock with the Petal Burst Embossing Folder.  The dragonfly is with Early Espresso cardstock and a vellum underneath his wings.  I glued only the top part of its body down so as not to interfere with the tear-off calendar papers. The dragonflies sparkle with a couple of rhinestones.
Beth Geraghty brought a beautiful card made with the Awesomely Artistic stamp set in blue, white, and tan.  She and I must have been on the same wave-length with our dragonflies!
A close-up of her card:
Shila Froehlich brought the cuteness factor in with her gingerbread man card.  She used Candy Cane Lane DSP and the Cookie Cutter Christmas stamp set/Cookie Cutter Builder Punch bundle.
And a close-up of her card:
I couldn’t help myself ~ I had to give the men some bow ties!  They look so dapper!
Lorna Andrejewski brought a window card and gave us lots of options for what we wanted to put outside the window.  She has one tree and an adorable little snowman. She also used the Candy Cane Lane DSP and a tree from Lovely as a Tree.
Here is a close up of her card with my take:
I chose to put the three trees from a retired set she had and I added “snow” on and under the trees. Makes you feel warm and cozy looking out that window, doesn’t it?  She also gave us these cute red and white buttons to adorn the banner, tied with Candy Cane Lane Baker’s Twine.
We had so much fun teaching each other how to make our cards!  Well, we always have fun when we get together ~ Stampin’ Up! brings us together with a common love for crafting.  It’s why I love what I do!
Back on Wednesday.  “See” you then!
