Frame That! (for CC2C)

Greetings! It’s time for another CASEing Coast to Coast with Rosanne (from the east coast) and me (from the west coast)! This month Rosanne picked the theme or topic of inspiration, and it’s a fun one: “You should frame that!” We are starting in Pennsylvania today, so here is Rosanne’s card ~

You can read all the details for her beautiful card at www.heartfeltstamping.com by clicking HERE.

And now, back in California, is my card ~

I took a very “literal” approach to the framing theme and framed a print from Meandering Meadows Designer Series Paper. My frame is made from Night of Navy and Radiating Stitches Dies. I matted the picture with Melon Mambo. Both Meandering Meadows and Radiating Stitches Dies are Online Exclusives and can be found HERE.

For the inside (and the paint brushes on the outside) I took some images from Crafting With You. I stamped the easel with Night of Navy and cropped it out with the coordinating dies. Then I stamped it again onto another piece of Meandering Meadows, fussy cut it out, and glued it to the easel.

Let’s talk about those paint brushes! I stamped them with Night of Navy, cropped them with the die, then paper-pieced the colorful brush tips with colors in the painting. I used Blends to add a bit more color to the shafts.

For the envelope, I used the same sheet of DSP as the inside painting to tie it all together. I love how the colors in it compliment the “painting” on the front!

One Thing I Would Do Differently

If and when I make this card again, or one similar, I would cut strips of Foam Adhesive Sheet to go around the backside of the frame. This time I used Black Dimensionals but it caved in a bit between the Dimensionals. It really needs the full foam support. Now we know! 😉

Thanks for visiting our blogs today! We’ll be back next month for another CC2C. I’ll be back tomorrow on Creating With Connie & Mary with a color challenge. See you then!
