Frame It!

Framing has become very popular in the papercrafting/cardmaking industry. I’ve seen it in a few places and  thought I’d try it with a jar of flowers. I am very pleased with the results!

The frames are easy to make with the Rectangle Stitched Framelits. First I glued a 5-1/4″ x 4″ piece of Tranquil Textures DSP to a piece of Whisper White cardstock for stability. Then I cut it out on my Big Shot with the largest rectangle framelit and again with the fourth from largest one. After that, I popped it up on the Tranquil Tide card base with two layers of Dimensionals for a little extra height, as shown below.

The jar is from Jar of Love, cropped with Everyday Jars Framelits. I cut two, one with Balmy Blue cardstock, the second with Vellum cardstock. Then I stamped the vellum with Smoky Slate and tied the two pieces together with a wrap of Linen Thread.

The flowers and leaves come from Bouquet Bunch Framelits, and I used Rich Razzleberry, Highland Heather, Mint Macaron, and Tranquil Tide cardstock.

“Love” is from the Country Home stamp set, stamped on a tiny tag. Although I kept it generic to use for any occasion,  Mother’s Day is coming and it would make a cute card for Mom with a flower arrangement gift.

Inspired by nature ~ or the other way around?

This color palette is one of my favorites. As I was thinking about how much I enjoy them, I looked out my window to the back patio and realized those are the colors I planted back there! Imagine that!!!

Jar of Love and Everyday Jars Framelits will not be returning in the 2019-20 Annual Catalog. It’s true that we have enjoyed them for a good long while, but I will be sad to see them go. If you never bought them, and regret that decision, now would be a good time to snatch them up. You can purchase them HERE. Tranquil Tide is an out-going color and Tranquil Textures DSP will be retiring as well. Stock up now if you love them!
