Fragrant Layers (CSF 905)

Welcome to our Thursday Create with Stamping Friends post! We have a sketch challenge this week. I’ve chosen the Fragrant Layers Stamp Set and Brushed With Beauty DSP for my card.

Here’s the sketch:

And here’s my card:

This is what I used:
  • Crumb Cake Cardstock base, 8-1/2″x 5-1/2″, folded at 4-1/4″
  • Basic White Cardstock layer, 5-1/2″x 4-1/4″
  • Vellum paper overlay, 5-1/2″x 4-1/4″
  • Brushed With Beauty DSP, 5-1/2″x 1-1/2″, cut at an angle, leaving 3/4″ at the bottom left.
  • Calypso Coral Cardstock strip, 5-1/2″x 1/8″
  • Crumb Cake sentiment strip, cropped with Stylish Shapes Die, 2-3/4″x 1/2″
  • Sentiment from Fragrant Layers Stamp Set, heat embossed with white embossing powder
  • Vanilla Baker’s Twine bow.
  • Pearls of Beauty embellishments in Crumb Cake

Before adhering the Vellum to the front, I stamped the large floral stamp in the top left corner of the Basic White Cardstock with Early Espresso ink. I also stamped a single flower image to the right of the floral cluster. Then I filled in the flowers with Calypso Coral and Flirty Flamingo ink, the centers with Darling Duckling, and the leaves with Mossy Meadow.

To prevent the glue from showing through the Vellum (not a good look!), I glued the Vellum at the bottom where the DSP would cover it up, then dotted glue in the spots that are covered by the sentiment and embellishments.

The sentiment strip is adhered with Dimensionals, over the twine bow.

I took the leftover strip of DSP that I cut off from the front strip and added it to the inside at the top. No Waste! 😊
