Follow Your Art

I chose Follow Your Art DSP for today’s post because, well, it’s Friday! I gave you Mosaic Mood on Monday, Washi on Wednesday, now Follow Your Art on Friday. See what I did there? haha! Here is my card:

OK, raise your hand if you love this DSP. That was a favorite game of my Kindergartners. They played “Raise your hand if…” a lot! Now I have to admit that this paper leaves me, well, a little confused. šŸ™Ā  The colors are bright and cheerful. But when I started trying to layer and combine, I got frustrated. If any of you that are reading this have found a really sharp way to use this paper, I would love to see what you’ve created. Would you share it with me?

Meanwhile, I gave up on layering and came up with this simple design that I really like. This print alone is really pretty if it isn’t competing with anything. And yes, I did use last year’s stamp set, Crafting Forever. I haven’t bought the new one yet and I do think this older set works very well with the DSP.

Here is a photo of the fronts and backs of Follow Your Art Designer Series Paper.

I know it will grow on me, as many of the new papers and colors do, once I’ve worked with them. As I’m looking at this photo, I can see more potential in pairing a front with a back. So I’ll keep playing and give you my assessment later on!

I must say…look how well our new Iridescent Sequins go with this paper! That was a fun discovery šŸ˜‰

I used my Blends to color the image after stamping it with Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto Thick Whisper White paper. The colors are Calypso Coral Combo, Night of Navy Light, Balmy Blue Dark, Daffodil Delight Dark, Pool Party Dark, and (retired) Pink Pirouette Dark.

The standard sized card base and image layer is Pacific Point cardstock.

Go have a great weekend, and “Do something creative every day!”
