Flowers & More Classic

This week I am playing with the mega pack of Designer Series Paper called Flowers & More. You can purchase this 48-sheet pack of 12″x 12″ paper for $18 when you host a $150 workshop/party (or purchase that amount for yourself). Today I’m using the “& More” on my card – this classic stripe can read masculine, so I brought out my “He’s All That” Stamp Set for a bright man card. It’s a Flowers & More classic!

Materials & Measurements:
  • Starry Sky DSP base, 8-1/2″x 5-1/2″, folded at 4-1/4″
  • Parakeet Party Cardstock layer, 5-1/4″x 4″
  • Flowers & More DSP, 5-1/8″x 3-7/8″
  • Starry Sky Cardstock “frame” cut 5-1/8″x 3-7/8″, then cropped the inside out with the 2nd largest Stitched Rectangle Die
  • Basic White Cardstock, cropped with Stitched Rectangle Dies, approx. 3-1/2″x 2-1/4″
  • Starry Sky Cardstock photo corners, cropped with Fabulous Frames Dies

Stamps & Such:
  • Using the 2022-2024 In Color Stampin’ Write Markers, color right onto the stamp with Starry Sky for the car and Parakeet Party for the words, then stamp the image onto the white panel. I find it easiest to use the Stamparatus and color one section at a time, stamp, then repeat for a crisper image.
  • Glue the photo corners to the corners of the white rectangle and pop it up on the DSP with Dimensionals.
  • Glue the DSP to the green layer, then to the base.
  • Add the Starry Sky frame around the perimeter of the DSP with tiny drops of liquid glue to “wiggle” it into place.
  • Add three Parakeet Party Dots below the stamped image.

Inside and Out:
  • Finish off the inside with a 3/8″ strip of matching DSP.
  • Add another piece of matching DSP to the flap of your envelope to tie it altogether.
An Insider Look:

Want to get a peek inside my designer brain? I started out with a simpler card design without the Starry Sky frame around the perimeter. Here is how it was going to be ~

There’s nothing wrong with it, except I felt that the photo corners were too “weighty” for the overall design, so I balanced it out with the extra frame around the perimeter of the DSP. A little more work, but I’m happier with the end result! I hope you like it!

Check out my card from Monday, also featuring Flowers & More – but more on the “Flowers” half of the paper! Click HERE to see that post.
