Wow! As neutral as my post was on Monday, this one is packed with color! This birthday card and treat bag have a very tropical feel, which is what the designers of Festive Birthday Designer Series Paper were going for, I’m sure.
My card is a simple layout, with two 2 1/2″ x 3″ panels of DSP on either side of the Tempting Turquoise card base. I cut the base at 4 1/4″ x 11″, scored it at 5 1/2″ and turned it on its side. A note about the Tempting Turquoise – I’ve always loved turquoise, but this is my very first card using it! When Stampin’ Up! brings out DSP with “new” colors, these papers that have been sitting in the box for a while get to come out and join the party! Thank you Stampin’ Up!
OK, so now might be a good time to mention that Festive Birthday is one of the designer papers that is on the “Buy 3 Get 1 Free” Special! The special is available through October 31st.
If you love bright, colorful, and festive, this is the paper for you!
And here is my adorable little gift bag that goes with the card. I got this from Pootles.com. Sam Donald does a video with instructions that are super easy to follow. She made these bags in Christmas paper with DSP for her holiday table. I made mine with Tempting Turquoise cardstock and added two panels measuring 3″ x 1 3/4″ of the matching Festive Birthday paper.

The bag measures 2″x2″x4″ altogether. The square (diamond) turquoise layer is 2″x 2″ and the white piece for the sentiment is 1 3/4″x 1 3/4.” The sentiment on the bag is from Tin of Tags. The flower is punched from Petite Petal Punch, with a tiny flower from Botanical Builders Framelits.
The sentiment on the card is Stylized Birthday (a single wood-mount stamp) and the flower is made from Botanical Builders Framelits.
All of the supplies I used will be listed below and they are linked to my online store for your easy shopping! It’s just a click away!
Have a fantastic day! I’m on my way to Seattle to visit my kids. My rain boots are packed! See you again soon ~
