Excellent Eggs (for CCMC 808)

We’re starting March off with a color challenge at Create With Connie & Mary. This is a pastel palette that makes me think of Easter eggs, so I went with Excellent Eggs for our challenge today. Here’s the color board ~

And here’s my card ~

excellent eggs bundle, cane weave 3D embossing folder, lighter than air dsp, Easter card idea, stampin up, karen hallam

These three colors are quite prominent in Lighter Than Air Designer Series Paper, so I chose three of the prints and started building Easter eggs!

Here are the details ~
  • Flirty Flamingo Cardstock base, 8-1/2″x 5-1/2″, folded at 4-1/4″
  • Flirty Flamingo Cardstock layer, 5-3/8″x 4-1/8″, textured with Cane Weave Embossing Folder
    • Adhere this layer to the card base with Dimensionals.
  • Three eggs, cut from Excellent Eggs Dies
    • The largest is a Balmy Blue print from Lighter Than Air DSP.
    • The middle one is a Flirty Flamingo print from the same DSP.
    • The smallest one is a Lemon Lolly print from the same DSP with a white die-cut bunny glued to the middle.
    • To the large blue egg, I cut three zigzig strips using the Dies and the same DSP as the other two eggs – two from Flirty Flamingo and one from Lemon Lolly.
  • The sentiment, “Happy Easter” is heat embossed with white embossing powder onto Flirty Flamingo.
    • I fussy cut around the words, then glued it to a small scrap of Basic White and fussy cut that as well.
  • Three Lemon Lolly Dots from the Rainbow Dots pack and a bow of Flirty Flamingo Baker’s Twine finish it off.
