Ever Eden

a big wish, ever eden dsp, hippo & friends dies, a card of encouragement idea, stampin up, karen hallam

Hello friend! I thought I’d take a break from Christmas cards, tags, & bags (my dining room looks like Santa’s workshop!) and make a card for a friend who could use a bit of encouragement. I think this beautiful Designer Series Paper from the Ever Eden collection will lift her spirits! This paper is so soft and lovely. But it’s only available till the end of December, so get some while it’s still here!

Card Recipe:
  • Evening Evergreen Cardstock base: 8-1/2″x 5-1/2″, scored and folded at 4-1/4″
  • Ever Eden DSP: cable knit pattern ~ 1″x 5-1/4″, leaf pattern ~ 3″x 5-1/4
  • Gold Foil Sheet: 1/4″x 5-1/4″
  • Basic White Cardstock label: Hippo & Friends Dies
  • Gold Shimmer Vellum: Brilliant Wings Dies
  • Stamp Set: Biggest Wish
  • Ink Pads: Evening Evergreen and Soft Succulent
  • One Wonderful Gem
Directions:
  • Glue the DSP into place on the card base.
  • Glue the Gold Foil strip over the seam between the 2 prints.
  • Stamp and attach the label to the front with Dimensionals.
  • Attach the butterfly by cutting a tiny strip of Dimensionals and sticking it to the lower part of the butterfly body. Add liquid glue to the head and to the bit of Dimensional as well for slipping into the right position and giving it an extra bit of stick!
  • Add the gold Wonderful Gem to the upper right of the label.

The butterfly gives the illusion of floating or barely landing on the card. You can see that from the side view:

I also used my Stamparatus to position the greeting perfectly. If you don’t yet have one, treat yourself for Christmas. It’s the best tool in the cupboard!

  1. Very pretty Karen!

  2. I like this. I haven’t used the stamp set or the paper yet. Very pretty. We had a quiet Thanksgiving, just Mike and I and Ted our dog. It was nice.
