This week we have a sketch challenge at Create With Connie & Mary. The divided strips felt perfect for a scenic DSP to me, so I went with Enjoy the Journey for CCMC757. Here’s the sketch ~
And here’s my card ~
To make it an easy pattern of 1″ strips, I had to get creative with the layering behind it. So here is what I came up with ~
- Starry Sky Cardstock base, 8-1/2″x 5-1/2″, folded at 4-1/4″
- Basic White Cardstock, 5-1/8″x 3-7/8″
- Starry Sky Cardstock layer, 5″x 3-3/4″, and textured with Into the Clouds Embossing Folder (hard to see in the photo, but it adds a nice visual texture in person!)
- Enjoying the Journey DSP, 4″x 3-3/4″ cut into four 1″-wide strips
- Vellum Cardstock, 2″x 1-3/4″, stamped and cropped with a Conversation Bubbles Die
I didn’t want to cover up the scene in the DSP, so I went with Vellum which allows the images to show through. I stamped it with Starry Sky ink and one of the Conversation Bubbles stamps, then adhered it with a small amount of Stampin’ Seal right in the middle.
I’m not sure who is yelling “thank you” from below the trees, but it is echoing throughout the forest! š
This is a great card to send to your outdoorsy friends and it’s super flat, so easy to mail! Now, be sure to visit Create With Connie & Mary by clicking HERE and check out the rest of the fabulous designs the team has created!
Enjoy the journey,
