It’s a beautiful summer day to enjoy life! This card reminds me of my daughter who runs marathons early in the morning. She is raising her arms in victory with the sunrise behind her.
When I saw this silhouette stamp I knew I wanted to try creating a sunburst behind. The Daffodil Delight DSP and cardstock provided a very sunny-looking canvas. I started with four 4″ x 1-3/8″ rectangles, 2 of cardstock and 2 of DSP. I cut each rectangle in half, corner to corner, creating triangles. Then I alternated each, beginning in the middle of the card and gluing each piece with the flat edge at the top, point at the bottom. I glued these pieces onto a 3-1/2″ x 3-3/4″ piece of copy paper before adhering it to the Balmy Blue card.
I used my Stamparatus to stamp the silhouette onto the yellow papers, giving it several repeats of stamping to get a good, dark image.
I used some retired Daffodil Delight ribbon and a flower brad that I found in my supply cabinet to finish off the “seam” of the card.
On the inside, the thank you sentiment and butterflies in the set seemed fitting.
I hope you have a beautiful day as well! Thank you so much for visiting my blog today.

Great card. Love the sun. You are just so clever!
I loved the title of your post! Perfect for a Monday morning! Then I saw the card and was once again wowed!
Hi Karen, I love how you did the DSP. I saved a few pieces that could look like a sun or some blue sky with white clouds. I made my daughter’s BD card with this with a sponged sun.
Have a great Monday.
🙂
BRILLIANT! This is perfect for your daughter…..(I need to CASE this as well…..for my Will who is also a runner) – the use of the DSP is just FAB-O! What a great way to wake up and get the week started!
