Easter Blessings For TGIF Challenge #255

Good Monday Morning to you! Today I’m taking on a challenge – the TGIF Challenge #255. I put an Easter spin on it! Here is my card, Easter Blessings for TGIF Challenge #255 ~

itty bitty greetings, best dressed dsp, cross of hope dies, flourish dies, butterfly beauty dies, sponging technique, Easter card idea, #tgifc255, stampin up, karen hallam, stampinup

And here is the banner that inspired my design ~

Note: The photographs make the card look much darker than it really is. My card base is Highland Heather, the DSP is from Best Dressed, the large butterfly is Purple Posy, and the tiny butterflies are Highland Heather. I made a card previously using these colors. You can see it here.

This is a card with dies – lots of dies! As I was looking at the drawing, I thought of the Flourish Die to give that fancy border along the left side. Then I went for my Cross of Hope Dies and used two of the crosses, one on top of the other. And what else does Easter make me think of? Yep, butterflies ~ so out came the Butterfly Beauty Dies.

What do you think of my “rainbow” paper that I used for the sentiment strip? I created it with sponging, and I love the look! First, I took sponge daubers and Whisper White paper, then I blended several pastel colors together. The colors I used are Petal Pink, Mango Melody, So Saffron, Granny Apple Green, Balmy Blue, and Highland Heather. After that I trimmed it down to 1/2″x 2-1/2″ and stamped Easter Blessings from Itty Bitty Greetings with Memento Black ink.

On a personal note ~

Have a great week! Don’t let the hysteria of COVID-19 get to you. Stay in and craft! What a great excuse, don’t you agree?

By the way, I am curious to know how this pandemic has affected you. I know you all are from many different states and perhaps even countries, and I’d love to hear from you. As a few of you know, I was planning a trip to Europe – next week! Needless to say, we had to cancel, and I’m seriously disappointed. But we will reschedule for later when things have quieted down. How about you and your area? What’s going on out there?! Keep the faith! This too shall pass.

  1. What a gorgeous card. I am not a “purple” person but this really struck a chord with me. Design is fabulous, too. And with the current shutdown here in my locality (several confirmed COVID-19 cases hospitalized) I may get my 30 Easter cards done on time. No excuses now!! No school (I’m a sub), no seasonal activities for church, no clubs or organizations—- so, yeah, mega crafting time. I may even get to ink up some unused stamp sets, or finish some Paper Pumpkin kits. Glass half full. I refuse to be depressed.
Sorry about your trip cancellation. I hope you can safely travel sooner rather than later.

  2. Love this card, Karen. The colors are so soft. I have added this to my “Case” file. I’m hoping to catch up on many cards in the coming weeks. My family must continue to work, but live very close to home. No public transit for them. My screen-time will definitely be increased.
    Have a blessed day.
