Earthen Elegance (for CCMC 769)

It’s a sketch challenge this week at CCMC! I recently acquired the Earthen Elegance Suite of products and decided to play with it for this challenge. Here is our sketch ~

and here is my card ~

earthen textures bundle, earthen elegance dsp, natural wavy trim, #ccmc769, thank you card idea, stampin up, karen hallam

Materials & Measurements:
  • Pecan Pie Cardstock base, 8-1/2″x 5-1/2″, folded at 4-1/4″
  • Very Vanilla layer, 5″x 2-5/8″; 3-1/8″x 1-3/4″ textured with a Basics Embossing Folder; 2″x 1/2″(before die-cutting) strip for sentiment; 5-1/4″x 4″ for inside
  • Earthen Elegance DSP, 4-7/8″x 2-1/2″; (2) strips at 4″x 1/2″
  • Very Vanilla for vase, 1-3/4″x 1-1/4″ (before die-cutting)
  • Crumb Cake and Copper Clay branches, 3″x 1-1/2″(before die-cutting)
Put it all together:
  • Glue the dark brown DSP to the Vanilla layer, then glue it to the card front, matching the top edges.
  • Angle cut the two DSP strips and glue them horizontally across the upper half of the card front.
  • Crop the Very Vanilla piece using Deckled Rectangle Dies, then emboss it with what I call the “starfish” Basics Embossing Folder. Adhere with Dimensionals.
  • Stamp the pot from Earthen Textures with Pecan Pie ink onto Very Vanilla Cardstock and crop with the coordinating die.
  • Cut a 2″ piece of Natural 1/4″ Wavy Trim and glue across the top of the pot, leaving the left side of the trim free. Unravel the pieces hanging off the left side of the pot.
  • Glue the bottoms of the Crumb Cake and Copper Clay branches onto the Vanilla piece and attach the pot over it with Dimensionals.
  • Stamp the greeting with Pecan Pie ink onto Vanilla Cardstock and crop with the arrow die from All That Dies. Glue in place.
  • Finish it off with three Neutrals Adhesive-backed Sequins.
On the inside:

  • Stamp the pot with Pecan Pie ink to the lower left side. Create a mask with Masking Paper to cover over the pot.
  • With the mask on, stamp the branches in Crumb Cake and Copper Clay inks.
  • Cut a pot topper from the DSP and glue in place.
  • Stamp the sentiment with Pecan Pie ink to the lower right side.

This suite is a stand-out to me. I highly recommend getting all of it! There is so much to play with and I love the rich earth tones. You will find it on pages 70-71 of the 2023 Annual Catalog.

Now pop on over to Create With Connie & Mary to see the other designers’ creations using this sketch.

Thanks for looking đź‘€! Have a great weekend!
