Decorative Borders

No one wants to have to send a sympathy card, but it is nice to have a couple on hand for those inevitable situations. I used the beautiful Decorative Borders Stamp Set with a sentiment from Inspired Thoughts for this simple but pretty card.

Simple Stamping:

I stamped the floral Decorative Border with Memento Tuxedo Black twice. I set the 5-1/4″x 4″ piece of Basic White in my Stamparatus, stamped the first one near the bottom, then turned the paper around and stamped again toward the top. Next I stamped the sentiment in the center, then dug out some Stampin’ Blends to color.

Easy Coloring:

I wanted a soft look, so I picked the Soft Sea Foam Blends Combo to color the leaves. I added just a little bit of Light Soft Succulent Blend to give some depth. For the blossoms I used Light and Dark Petal Pink with a touch of Light Calypso Coral in the centers.

Texture & Layering:

After coloring, I ran the piece through the Cut & Emboss Machine with the Timeworn Type 3D Embossing Folder. It gave the layer just a little bit more interest than leaving it plain. Then I adhered it to a Thick Basic White Cardstock base using Dimensionals.

Finishing Touches:

I added three Iridescent Rhinestones to the front. My last step was to glue a 6″x 2-1/4″ piece of Delicate Desert DSP to the envelope flap and trim it to fit.

Both of the stamp sets I used on this card are on the retiring lists that will be out tomorrow, April 4. If you like them, get your order in soon, as the items on the list will be selling quickly. Color Refresh!

With the new catalog this year, we are getting a color refresh in addition to our new 5 In Colors.
