What do you get an 18 year old college boy who is living on campus and eating dorm food every day? Gift cards for fast food, of course! I’m warning you though, this is a cuteness alert! I’ve been having some Reindeer Fun!
My grandson is coming to visit today, so I’m scurrying to get some gifts wrapped. We’ll have an early Christmas with him, then he heads home in a week. I had bought him some gift cards to his favorite places to get lunch and wanted to make them a little bit festive, so I whipped these gift card holders up in mere minutes.
Here’s the simple base formula:
- Cardstock (I used Real Red), 3-1/4″x 8-1/2″
- Score this along the long side at 2-1/4″ and 6-1/4″
- Round the corners of the end that you determine will be the top.
- DSP (I used Take a Bow), 2 pieces @ 2″x 3″ in landscape orientation
- Round the two corners of the one that will go on the top, and glue it to the cardstock top.
- Put Tear & Tape along the sides of the bottom piece and fold up to create a pocket.
- Glue the other piece of DSP to the front of this bottom section.
Decorate as you choose:
This is where I pulled out Reindeer Fun. He is just so cute!
-
- My reindeer is made with Early Espresso, Very Vanilla, and Pecan Pie – glued together in that order.
- I tucked him into a Garden Green wreath from the Reindeer Fun Dies, added berries, and a red & white Baker’s Twine bow.
-
- I glued the reindeer and wreath to a 2-1/2″ circle of Basic White, cropped with Stylish Shapes Dies. I glued the top half of the circle to the top flap of the gift card holder.
- “Oh what yum!” (retired Itty Bitty Christmas) seemed quite appropriate! I stamped it in Real Red and cropped it out using the smallest Stylish Shapes circle dies.
- To hold the flap down, I added a 1/2 Velcro Dot ~
I’ve got it hanging on the tree! I’m sure the cards will be redeemed for something yummy very soon!
