Crafting…in Place!

How is everyone faring? I trust you all are “sheltering in place,” as we Californians have been told to do! I suppose that is really the only way we are going to stop Mr. CV! Thank God for this craft of ours to keep our brains creatively working! So join me with Crafting…in Place!

On Monday’s post (if you missed it, see it here) I mentioned another card I made with the Poppies Dies. Here it is:

This card definitely says, “Wake up!” with its bold, bright colors. For the petals, I chose Melon Mambo Cardstock. Can you guess which DSP I used for the layers on the poppies? I’ll let you think about it for a minute! The leaves are Garden Green and I’ve layered it all onto Pacific Point.

Inspiration from the trip that would have been

This coming Saturday is the day my friend and I would have been arriving in Greece! Sigh! I created this card to send to her as a “We’ll make it next year!” gesture. It’s supposed to be a Santorini hillside, lol! It was from this card that I got my color inspiration for the poppies.

Alright, did you guess which DSP I used? It’s the lipstick sheet from Best Dressed! The color in the DSP is actually Lovely Lipstick, but it is so close to Melon Mambo, just a bit darker, that it is perfect for layering together.

For the sentiment, I pulled out a Lawn Fawn set that I have and heat embossed it using White Stampin’ Emboss Powder.

For my embellishments I used Black Rhinestones, which I now realize have retired. But the Peaceful Poppies Sequins would be a perfect choice, as the colors are spot on with these papers. I’ll link to those below in my Product List.

Crafting…in place!

The new norm? I hope it’s just temporary as I miss my gatherings with stamping friends! If you are one of my class attendees, I hope to have a virtual class this next month for you. Stay tuned. I’ll let you know when and if I can make that happen!

Meanwhile, stay in, stay safe. Craft away, my friends! I hope to see you soon.
