We are back to our regular color/sketch rotation at Create With Connie & Mary for August, and first up is a color challenge. I’ve colored the images in Courage & Faith to follow this combination:
Here’s my card:
This is my first time to use the Courage & Faith Stamp Set. I love the Bible verses in this set, and the floral images are easy and fun to color. Here’s a look at the whole stamp set ~
I stayed with the three colors with the addition of white for the stamped images.
Materials & Measurements:
- Starry Sky Cardstock base, 11″x 4-1/4″, folded at 5-1/2″ for a top folding card
- Basic White Cardstock, 4″x 3-1/2″, cropped with Countryside Corners Dies
- Basics 3D Embossing Folder (crosshatch design)
- Starry Sky ink pad
- Blends Markers: Lemon Lolly and Parakeet Party
- Brushed Brass Butterflies
Putting It Together:
- Emboss the front of the card base by inserting the open card into the Basics 3D Folder, positioning it so only the front embosses.
- On a 5-1/2″x 4-1/4″ piece of Basic White Cardstock, stamp and color the sentiment and floral images with Starry Sky ink, then color in the floral images with Blends.
- Crop the image/sentiment out with the largest of the Countryside Corners Dies, positioning the bottom of the die where you want it to cut. Then reposition the die to crop off the top leaving an equal amount of space as the bottom. [The die is much longer than I wanted it, but needed that one for the width.]
- Trim the sides off about 1/4″ to bring the sides in just a little, so it’s not so “squatty!”
- Adhere it to the card with a piece of Foam Adhesive Sheet, cut a little smaller than the cardstock.
- Add three Brushed Brass Butterflies.
