Last Thursday I posted this card. I had an idea in my head, but it didn’t quite work out as I saw it in my imagination. So I asked for your help. See that post HERE.
You really came through ~ I got many good suggestions! Thank you all for your ideas on ways to improve the design!
I tried several of the ideas, and decided that I really liked my basic design. It just needed some small changes. This is how my card looks now.
Not too different! But I went with Nancy’s suggestion and made the Seaside Spray layer narrower. I added a layer of Vellum over the tile DSP to soften it a bit. That addition brings the watering can with flowers forward and keeps it from getting lost against the busy background.
Thank you again for participating in my design process! It was fun for me to consider and play with all of the suggestions. Nancy, I have a little something for you to thank you for your help. 🙂 Now this Country Home IS in Good Taste!
Have a great weekend and I’ll see you next week!

Oh, my gosh, what a game changer of adding vellum!
Sa-weet!!
Thanks, Virginia!
It pleased my eye! And isn’t it amazing that such a small change makes a big difference. I am an artistic person and find it difficult to hear critiques so admire you for opening yourself. That is how we learn best. Accolades, sweet as they are, do not teach.
So true, Hope! A kind but honest critique is most helpful!
What a nice card with the few small changes!! The container of flowers really is the “star” now. It is amazing what a little tweaking does to a card. Sometimes I am not quite sure about a card & then I let it sit for a while & come back to it later…….and something “shouts” at you for a little change & walla……a star is born!
Exactly, Karen! I can fiddle all night with a design, leave it till morning, then instantly figure out what I was trying to do! Thanks for your comments!
OH Karen, So glad I had the courage to comment that day.
Have a blessed day.
Your comments are always treasured, Nancy!
Small changes but it really changed it up. The container of flowers really pop.
Thanks, Chris! Sometimes all it takes is a little “fix!”
Very nice change up!
Thank you!
LOVE IT!!!! You have been a machine with your blog….this card makes me smile!
Thanks, Susan! Some people have gone to their gardens 🙂 and me – to my craft room!
