We are starting February off with a color challenge at Create with Connie & Mary. Using Calypso Coral, Blackberry Bliss, and Evening Evergreen, I picked Country Bouquet for CCMC752. Here is the Color Board:
And here is my card:
This is not a color combination that I’m naturally drawn to, so I decided to keep it very clean and simple, showing a lot of white. And it is getting close to Valentine’s Day, so this large heart in Country Bouquet seemed perfect! Anyway, who decided valentines had to be pink and red?! 😉
Measurements:
- Blackberry Bliss Cardstock base, 11″x 4-1/4″, folded at 5-1/2″
- Basic White layer, 5″x 3-3/4″
- Regals 6″x 6″ DSP (Blackberry Bliss) layer, 4-7/8″x 3-5/8″
- Basic White cropped with 4-1/4″x 3″ Deckled Rectangle Die, and also 3-1/2″x 1/2″ sentiment strip
Steps to Assemble:
- Glue the Blackberry Bliss DSP to the 5″x 3-3/4″ white layer.
- Stamp the two-step heart onto a piece of white cardstock using Calypso Coral for the flowers and Evening Evergreen for the leaves. Using a Blackberry Bliss Stampin’ Write Marker, dot the insides of the flowers where they are white.
- Using the 4-1/4″x 3″ Deckled Rectangle Die, crop the white cardstock with the stamped heart toward the top. Glue it to the front of the card.
- Stamp “Happy Valentine’s Day” with Blackberry Bliss ink onto the sentiment strip, then run it through the Cut & Emboss Machine with the next size up Deckled Rectangle Die to crop the sides of the strip. Adhere it to the card using Dimensionals.
- Add the finished panel to the card base with either a piece of craft foam or Foam Adhesive Sheet, approximately 4-1/2″x 3-1/4″.
- Color three Pearls with an Evening Evergreen Blend Marker and place them on the front.

Love the non-traditional Valentine colors here. This seems like an challenging color combination to work with but you did a wonderful job.
Thanks, Rosanne! It was a tricky color combo!
