Country Birdhouse

I’m very excited to show you one of the new stamp & die bundles coming out on May 1! It’s called Country Birdhouse and I absolutely love it! There are many techniques you can do with this set, but for my first card, I decided to stick with simple coloring. I used my Blends Markers and colored up a storm.

If you’re into “country” decor, or birdhouses, you will love this set too.

Here’s what I used:
  • Night of Navy Cardstock base, 8-1/2″x 5-1/2″, folded at 4-1/4″
  • Country Woods DSP (also part of this Suite, available May 1), 5-1/4″x 4″
    • This paper is part of my Product Share! See HERE for details. I’m taking reservations up to April 29.
  • Night of Navy Cardstock for the birdhouse stand
  • Basic White Cardstock for the birdhouse, bird, and flowers – stamp with Memento Tuxedo Black and color with Blends:
    • Misty Moonlight, Pecan Pie, Balmy Blue, Azure Afternoon, Wild Wheat, Natural Tones Deep, Petal Pink, Calypso Coral, Old Olive, Daffodil Delight
  • Sentiment from Country Birdhouse, stamped with Versamark Ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder
Steps For Success:
  1. Glue the Navy stand at the bottom of the DSP, mid-point.
  2. Next, glue the colored and cut birdhouse so it looks like it’s sitting on the stand.
  3. Cut the excess stand off the bottom and glue the DSP to the card base.
  4. Stamp the sentiment with Versamark ink and heat emboss it with white embossing powder.
  5. Using Dimensionals, adhere the bird to the perch and the flowers to the bottom sides of the house.

  • Stamp the floral image with Memento and color with Blends.
  • Create a mask using Masking Paper and stamp the same image onto the masking paper, cut, and stick over the first stamped image.
  • Stamp the log with Pecan Pie over the masking paper and around the flower.
  • Peel off the Masking Paper and color the log.
  • Stamp the sentiment from Country Birdhouse with Pecan Pie.
