Cottage Wreaths (for #tttc203)

I’m entering the Tic, Tac, Toe Challenge this week with a cheerful wreath-clad window! Here is the challenge board ~

I went with the middle, horizontal row: Design Paper, Scoring, and Wreath.

Stampin’ Up! is gearing up for the new Annual Catalog, beginning May 2, 2023. Whenever a new catalog comes out, some well-loved products are phased out. I have a few of those on this card. Here’s what I used:

Materials & Measurements
  • Evening Evergreen Cardstock (retiring) base, 8-1/2″x 5-1/2″, folded at 4-1/4″
  • Fancy Flora 6″x 6″ DSP (retiring), 5-3/8″x 4-1/8″ on card front, 6″x 2″ on envelope flap
  • Basic White Cardstock “frame”, 4-3/4″x 3-1/2″; 3″x 3″ for wreath
  • Vellum Cardstock, 4″x 3″
  • Subtles 6″x 6″ DSP (sold out) in Calypso Coral for bow
  • Blushing Bride Cardstock (retiring) strip for envelope flap, 3/8″ by 6″

Extra Details
  • After cutting the Basic White cardstock for the window frame, I scored around all four sides at 3/8″ and 1/2″. Then I roughed up the edges for a distressed look. Last, I cut an opening from the middle at 3-5/8″x 2-3/8″ to create the frame.
  • I glued the Vellum to the back of the frame with small dots of Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
  • For the wreath, I stamped the leafy part in Evening Evergreen and the stick part in Soft Suede (retiring).
  • I doubled up the Dimensionals on the back of the wreath for extra height, and added an adhesive-backed sequin (retired) to the bow “knot.”
  • My last step was to stamp the sentiment onto the Vellum under the wreath. Risky? Yes! I was happy when it stamped nicely – straight and dark. I used “hello” from Biggest Wish and stamped it with Evening Evergreen ink (sadly, retiring!)

You can find all of the retiring items in my online store by clicking HERE. Some items are discounted as much as 60%! They are available only while supplies last, so if you want to stock up, better do so now!

Oh wow, this is fun and I would never have thought about this. Love it.

  4. I really like this card, Karen! Great idea to create a “vellum-ed” window and the wreath looks great against the DSP. Thanks for playing Tic Tac Toe with us this week!
