Cool New Effect (with By the Bay)

I’m excited to show you this cool new effect I discovered using one of the Basics Embossing Folders and By The Bay DSP! I haven’t seen this done before and the result is so interesting. First of all, here’s the card…

The new technique is on the piece of embossed Sahara Sand with the seashell shine on it. I ran this piece through the Cut & Emboss Machine with the Basics 3D Embossing Folder (the one that looks like little starfish all over it) and the texture and shine is amazing! Here it is before the embossing…

  • Thick Basic White base, 11″x 4-1/4″ folded at 5-1/2″
  • Basic White layer, embossed with Into the Clouds EF, 5-1/2″x 4-1/4″
  • By the Bay 6″x 6″ DSP, Sahara Sand shell print 4-1/4″x 2-3/4″, Navy mussels print cropped with Deckled Rectangle 3-1/2″x 2-1/8″ die, Navy swirl print strip 3-1/2″x 3/4″
  • Basic White sentiment strip 3″x 1/2″
  • Pelican from Waves of Inspiration, stamped with Gray Granite, sentiment from Waves of Inspiration, stamped with Night of Navy
  • 2 Enamel Dot Essentials

I hope you’ll try this cool new effect with By the Bay DSP. In person it is so textural and shiny it really makes you wonder, “How did she do that?!”
