Completed Note Card Gift Set

Welcome to the Pals’ Blog Hop! We’re so glad you’re here because we made some great projects for “Layer It Up”  – showcasing our favorite Designer Series Paper and embellishments.  You may be starting the hop here or coming from a previous Pal’s blog. Either way, you’ve come to the right place. You’ll find the full line-up below to help you move, or “hop” along from Pal to Pal.

Brightly Gleaming Note Card Set

For my project today, I am completing the note card set that I started on Monday. If you missed that post, you can see it here. This third note card uses the Brightly Gleaming Specialty Designer Series Paper along with Stitched Stars Dies.

I layered the DSP with Very Vanilla on a Pretty Peacock card base. This is note card-sized at 5″ x 3-1/2″. I cropped the stars with Copper Foil and Very Vanilla cardstock.

To the center star, I heat embossed the greeting from A Big Thank You and Copper Stampin’ Emboss Powder. The final embellishment is a tiny copper star (Star Designer Elements #150430).

On the inside, I glued two 1/8″ strips of the DSP to Very Vanilla Cardstock. I echoed the design on the front of the envelope.

Stamping Habit Tip:

When gluing very narrow strips of paper, start off with strips that are longer than you need. Apply tiny beads of liquid glue where you need it. Use the extra length to give you something to hold onto when putting it into place. Then turn the paper over and trim off the excess. Less mess and better precision!

Complete the set with a pretty box!

Now, no card “set” would be complete without a box to put them into! I made a box perfectly sized for these note cards & envelopes using the same DSP, stars dies, and some coordinating ribbon.

The box is held closed with the 1/2″ Classic Weave Ribbon that is part of the Brightly Gleaming Suite.

This box will easily hold up to five note cards with envelopes. I used the box design that was created by UK Demo, Sam Donald of pootles.co.uk. She used a magnet closure, but I tied the box together with ribbon instead. You can watch her instructional video here.
