Celebrate Sunflowers for #tgifc281

The sunflower season will be behind us before we know it! When I realized that I knew I needed to pick up the pace on my sunflower creations so I don’t miss the opportunity! Today I’m bringing you Celebrate Sunflowers for #tgifc281.

This sketch challenge is a fun one, as there are a “katrillion” different options for background panels, no exaggeration! 🙂 I chose two of the sunflower prints and a coordinating Misty Moonlight dotted print from Flowers For All Seasons. Here is the sketch for this week:

My panels measure 5-1/4″x 2″, 3-1/4″x 1-15/16″, and 1-15/16″x 1-15/16″. If you really want to know how I figured out those dimensions…well, I started with a 5-1/4″x 4″ panel, cut it in half, trimmed the barest smidge off the side of one (thus the crazy 15/16″), then eyeballed the length of the mid-sized piece, cut, and filled in with the smallest piece. All very scientific and mathematical – not!

I also have a blooper to share with you. What do you do when your stamp falls off the block before you get it down to the paper?

You cuss, then you get a grip, and you improvise a solution! Lol!

  1. Yup, that is why we have all those dies and punches….to cover our mistakes! Great card.

That is such a great use of beautiful colors! And I had to chuckle because I’ve been there and done that stamp dropping off the block thing. It’s just maddening, I know, but you covered it nicely. Good job!

    • Right?! The cling didn’t cling very well! Haha! Well, there are no mistakes, as they say, only opportunities! 🙂 Thanks so much!

  3. Absolutely gorgeous! I love sunflowers.
