Celebrate Sunflowers for #PP547

I’ve been a busy little crafter this past week! The extreme heat outside has kept me inside, and what better indoor activity than stocking up my card supply?! That’s when I’m thankful for card challenges that provide me with sketches or color combos to jumpstart my ideas! For example, this one from Paper Players. I’ve used Celebrate Sunflowers for #PP547 ~

Here is the sketch challenge for the week~

That circle took my mind right to our sunflower die. My gold metallic paper was sitting out so I decided to use it for the detailed part of the flower. I love the texture of this newer metallic paper!

The under portion of the sunflower is the back side of the very colorful Pansy Petals DSP. Isn’t it the perfect yellow for this?! I used my new Stitched Greenery Die again on the Mossy Meadow layer (4-1/8″x 3-7/8″). Again, love the texture! It’s layered over So Saffron and mounted on a base of Thick Very Vanilla.

Stamping Tip

“Thinking of You” comes from Quiet Meadow. I stamped it with Mossy Meadow ink. My MM ink pad is particularly juicy and I was having a hard time getting this sentiment stamped without lots of ugly blobs. That ever happen to you? Here is what I tried (and it worked like a charm). Take an acrylic block and holding it at an angle, run the edge of it across the pad a couple of times to pull the ink to the sides of the pad case. It moves the excess out of the way and the stamp comes out perfectly!

DSP is on SALE now at 15% off!

The Pansy Petals DSP that I used on this card is on sale along with 8 other packs right now, through July. Stock up! Click here to order. When you do, please use my Host Code for July: D3SWAYHR.  As a thank you, I’ll send you a card tutorial for each pack that you order.
