CASEing Coast to Coast With Magnolia Lane

This week I’ve been taking a stroll down Magnolia Lane! I’m continuing that walk today for CASEing Coast to Coast with east coast friend, Rosanne Mulhern. Each month she and I take turns CASEing each other’s project. Today it’s my turn to create the inspiration. I’ve made a Z-Fold card using Magnolia Lane Designer Series Paper.

Here you see the front of the card with its envelope. I’ve layered the designer series paper with Mossy Meadow over a Whisper White Thick card base.

And here you see the card in the open position. To create the z-fold, start with a 11″x 4-1/4″ piece of cardstock. Score it at 5-1/2″ as you normally would, then score again at 2-3/4″ on the left half. Fold the left score line back and the center score line forward, creating the z shape.

Focal Point Details

For the center greeting, I used Stitched So Sweetly Dies, layering as shown. Mossy Meadow, Petal Pink, and Whisper White are the colors of the cardstock. Early Espresso is the color of ink I used for the sentiment from Good Morning Magnolia. The flower embellishment looks very much like the one I stamped and colored on Monday’s card, but this one was easier. I simply cropped it from the Magnolia Lane DSP using the coordinating die from Magnolia Memory Dies. The Champagne Rhinestones take on that pinkish shine next to the Petal Pink paper!

Here is my last photo. You can easily see the z-fold in this picture. I added a Whisper White layer (2-1/8″x 3-3/4″) to the inside and cut a tiny flower from one of the Magnolia Lane DSP sheets. “Miss You” is from the Enjoy Life set. I thought it appropriate for the times. I do miss seeing my friends and family! Thank goodness for Face Time and Zoom. Technology has really saved the day through this pandemic. However, it’s so nice to get a handmade card in the mail ~ don’t you agree?

Ready to head East?

OK, time to leave the west coast and zoom over to the east coast to see Rosanne’s interpretation of my card! We both would love to get your comments! Tell us what you think – or just say “Hi!” Let us know you are seeing our posts and send us a little love! Thanks so much!

    • Hi Ingypat, I’ve included the measurements in the text. For the DSP layering just cut each layer 1/4″ smaller than the one under it. Hope that helps! Thanks!
