It is candy cane season! I saw candy canes is every color and flavor in the grocery store today. What is your favorite flavor? I am a traditionalist in that I still like the peppermint best! And I stuck with the traditional red and green for my color scheme in today’s sketch challenge at Create With Connie & Mary.

You don’t have to go very deep into the Mini Catalog to find the sets I chose for this card. Both are found on pages 8-11 and were among the first purchases I made out of this catalog!
Details:
- Shaded Spruce Cardstock base, 11″x 4-1/4″, scored and folded at 5-1/2″, plus a scrap for pine bough
- Basic White, 4″x 4″ for stamping, and 5-1/4″x 4″ for inside
- Santa Express DSP for the under-layer, 4-3/4″x 3-1/2″
- Basic White Cardstock and Snowflake Specialty Vellum for the top layer, 4-5/8″x 3-3/8″
- Distressed Gold Specialty Paper, 4″x 1/4″ strip and a scrap for leaves
- Sweet Candy Canes Bundle and Christmas Banners Bundle for images and sentiment
- Real Red and Shaded Spruce ink pads, and Versamark Pad + Gold Emboss Powder
- Red Rhinestones
Put it together:
- Adhere the Snowflake Vellum to the Basic White layer using a small criss-cross of Stampin’ Seal on the back of the Vellum.
- Glue the Santa Express DSP to the card front at an angle.
- Glue the white/vellum layer over the DSP straight and even with the base.
- Next glue the gold strip across the center of the card.
- Stamp, crop, and glue the red and spruce candy canes in the center of the card.
- Crop a gold leaf sprig and a Shaded Spruce pine bough from the Christmas Banners Dies and glue them over the candy canes.
- Stamp the banner with Shaded Spruce, then heat emboss the sentiment inside the banner. Crop with the coordinating die and attach with Dimensionals.
- Add Red Rhinestones to finish it off.
- Stamp the inside panel as desired and glue in place.
