I’m using a classic card design that Linda Heller mentioned in her recent post. She calls it the 2 x 4, because the bottom piece of DSP is 2″ x 4″. You can get a lot of cards out of one piece of DSP with this design!
I used Candy Cane Lane Designer Series Paper, which, by the way, is one of the Buy 3 Get 1 free special going on during the month of October. More about that later…
The top piece of DSP is the reverse side of the bottom. It’s cut at 3″ x 4″ and both pieces are glued to a 5 1/4″ x 4″ piece of cardstock. It isn’t showing, so you can use any old scrap – it’s just for stability. Next glue a 1/2″ x 4″ strip of Real Red cardstock across the middle of the 2 pieces of DSP. I tied a Linen Thread bow around the width, then popped it onto an Early Espresso card basewith Dimensionals.
The Whisper White circle is cut from our new Layering Circles Framelits, with a scallop circle of Espresso glued behind. The Star Framelits fit nicely into the circle, one with Real Red, the smaller one is Crumb Cake. I stamped the star design from Candy Cane Christmas Stamp Set with Versamark ink and heat embossed it with white embossing powder.
I stamped MERRY from Holly Jolly Greetings Stamp Set in Real Red on Whisper White cardstock and cut it to 1/2″ wide. I put a White Perfect Accent dot in the middle of the star, and a red star shape from the Brights Enamel Shapes collection on the banner.
On the inside, I wrapped a length of matching Washi Tape around the bottom, and found the perfect sentiment in the Wonderful Year stamp set.
