Beautiful Wings Birthday Card

I’m going to apologize right up front today for showing you a card that is made mostly with retired products.  I know that can be frustrating when you see something you like, but find out it isn’t available anymore.  But I want to show it to you anyway, for the idea, not for the marketability.
This card is for a girl who is about to turn 9.  Her mom said, “She loves butterflies.”  And I happen to know that she will love this color combination.  I found my old, much loved, Gingham Garden scraps and added some Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight, and Island Indigo.  Then I pulled out my old Beautiful Wings Embosslits  (this JUST retired so I’m thinking that many of you still have it – ?) and cut out several butterflies.
The background texture is from the Paper Studio line. I only embossed the top 3/4 of the paper.  The sentiment, stamped with Melon Mambo, is from Curly Cute, another favorite retired stamp set that I will never get rid of!  The 1/4″ ribbon is Island Indigo.  And the whole front is glued to a Melon Mambo base, 5 1/2″ x 4 1/4″.
I hope you will take my card layout and run with it!  You can choose any papers, any colors, mix and match the colors from a great DSP, and have fun with the arrangement.
Thanks for stopping by!
