Butterfly Basics for PPA 303

I was so excited to see the color combination in this week’s PPA challenge.  It is one of my favorite combinations.  Thank you Shawn de Oliveira for putting this together ~

And here is my card~

I went all collage-y on this one.  Not my usual style, but it was fun!  I used one stamp set – Butterfly Basics – with 2 sets of butterfly thinlits.

I stamped the sentiment full strength Night of Navy, then stamped off the ferns and honeycomb to soften the color using Sahara Sand and Mint Macaron .

The base and inner layer is Night of Navy.  The Mint layer is from the In Colors DSP Stack.  I swirled some Gold Thread behind the butterflies and tied a bow with 2 strands of Linen Thread for the front.

I left it pretty simple on the inside, as I thought the front had plenty going on ~

I added some fern fronds and a couple of butterflies stamped from the same set on the envelope ~

I love the color challenges because everyone comes up with completely different ideas.  See the other entries by clicking HERE.  You can see the list of supplies that I used on this card at the end of the post.  A quick click on the product picture will take you right to my online store site, if you are in a shopping mood!  And who isn’t, with the new catalog just out yesterday!!!

Thanks for stopping by.  Until next time,
Happy Stamping!
