Butterflies = Spring!

Happy Monday morning to you! And Happy March! This is my first post for March – I was away over the weekend, visiting in Seattle. My daughter and family live up there and it’s always a fun but quick jaunt up to visit them on occasion. We had beautiful weather on Saturday, even though quite cold! OK, I know my east coast and mid-west friends are shaking their heads at me. “Baby, you don’t know cold!!!”
I’m looking forward to Spring and some warmer weather, so I made a very Spring-like card for today, using Delightful Daisy DSP and the Butterfly thinlits. Isn’t it pretty? I absolutely love the prints on Delightful Daisy ~
Delightful Daisy Designer Series Paper # 144137, $11

There are two similar sheets that have a white background with flowers and leaves scattered all over. I picked the one with the bigger images for my card, layered on Calypso Coral, with a Thick Whisper White base.

Two butterflies, two thinlit die sets. The large Calypso Coral one comes in Butterfly Thinlits. On top of that I glued a smaller butterfly using Peekaboo Peach and the Bold Butterfly Framelits. I only glued down the bodies of the butterflies, allowing me to lift their wings up a bit and giving dimension to the front of the card.
I tied a cute little bow using Calypso Coral 1/8″ Sheer Ribbon and attached it with a Glue Dot.
The sentiment comes from Fruit Basket in the Occasions Catalog. I stamped it on a skinny banner with Night of Navy ink and glued it to the front.
